Carly’s Wedding In New Jersey Bride

Happy Wedding Wednesday everyone! We thought today would be the perfect day to share an ASE wedding that was featured in the Fall/Winter 2012 New Jersey Bride magazine. Carly and Brendan met on their first day at St. Lawrence University and were inseperable ever since. Seven years later, Brendan proposed to Carly on the beach and the rest was history! This wedding was extra special to ASE because Carly just so happens to be Allison’s daughter, and an event planner with ASE, of course! Carly and Allison worked together to dream up the perfect wedding day and it couldn’t have turned out better.

Carly’s wedding was quite the event… with a color pallet of pink and green, the possibilities were endless. Our favorite part of this wedding was the custom lighting in the tent designed by Allison herself. The surprise fireworks display was a close second for us though! There were so many little details that went into making this wedding great from the monogrammed pillows on the couches to the intracate detailing on the cake that matched Carly’s beautiful gown. Take a look at the article and make sure to pick up your own copy of New Jersey Bride, they have so many fantastic resources for brides to be!

Wedding Cake Alternatives

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Lately, a lot of brides have been going a different route and avoiding the traditional wedding cake. Although the cake cutting portion of a wedding is adorable, we also love the idea of a easier to eat and less formal option. If you’re having a more casual wedding, this will give your guests the freedom to dance and mingle without interruption for the remaider of the night. These cute litte desserts are perfect for snacking on while dancing the night away! We are cake pop and cupcake crazed over here at ASE!

Inspiration {Grounded In White}

It’s been a while since we shared one of our inspiration boards. Lately at ASE we have been very inspired by white. Not pure white, but a wedding grounded in white with added, subtle, pops of other colors like a pale pink, green, or purple. We love the idea of simple clean lines bringing a bright and happy feel to your wedding day. Enjoy some of our amazing inspiration!

ASE Loves: Oversized Flower Arrangements

Do you love this flower arrangement as much as we do? Of course the silver chairs paired with the pure white table paired with the (way) oversized flowers gets us, but we’re pretty sure they could put this centerpiece anywhere and we’d be swooning. We are always big fans of long tables at a wedding, it gives more of a sense of family and sharing. If you are going to have as many guests as the couple from this wedding obviously did, you’ll need big flowers to make a big impression on your guests. Having multiple oversized flower arrangements mixed with smaller flowers lining the table is sure to make your wedding one for the books!

Friday: The Decor

Happy Friday! Finally, we get to the decor. For us, the decor encompasses little details that make a big impact on your day. Will you hang chandeliers outside? What color chairs fit best with the flowers you chose? Will you have table runners and candles, or large centerpieces that speak for themselves? Flowers on the chair backs (like mentioned in yesterday’s post)? The decor is really what will evoke the couple’s theme perfectly. This is also our favorite part of wedding planning, pulling all of the details together to make the bride’s dream wedding come to life.

Thursday: The Flowers

How are you all fairing in this heat? We would much prefer 80 degree weather so hopefully mother nature will decide to go back to that in a few days! We hope you’ve enjoyed wedding week so far, it’s hard to believe it is almost over already. Today we wanted to talk about the flowers. We find that this can often be a hot topic for brides. To splurge on the flowers or not to splurge? If these photos don’t convince you to invest in flowers we don’t know what will! Flowers can add so much texture to a wedding, it’s so important to have some color and texture to break up your reception tables. One of our favorite touches is adding flowers to the back of the bride and groom’s chairs, or flowers lining the sides of the aisle paving the way for the bride. Check out our favorite flowers as of late, arrangements like these are what will make your wedding really stand out!

Wednesday: The Invitations

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today we wanted to show you some our favorite invites. Just like your wedding day wardrobe, your invitations should reflect the theme of your day. This will also help the guests get an idea of what they can expect. If you are having a casual wedding and expect your guests to dress that way, use non traditional wording and a fun font. If you’re having a black tie affair, use traditional/formal wording and consider embossing for a luxe effect. One of our favorites below is the second photo. If you’re having a destination wedding that requires an invitation suite with lots of little details, this is the way to do it! Consider adding touches that evoke the feel of the state, or country, you’re wedding will be held in.

Tuesday: The Dress

After you have the groom, and the ring, we think you’re wedding fashion is one of the most important elements. You want your dress to reflect the theme of your entire wedding. Whether your wedding is in a church, a rustic barn, or on the beach, there is a dress to fit the occassion! Here are some of our favorites we’ve seen lately, we love the romantic detailing on all of these dresses. It’s amazing what ruffles, a rhinestone belt, or a touch of lace can add!

Monday: The Groom

This week we are going to do a full week of wedding details. We’ve been finding so much great inspiration on Pinterest lately, we thought this would be the only way to get it all out to our readers! First off, let’s talk about the groom. First step in a wedding is finding the groom after all! We love the fashion for grooms coming through wedding blogs. It seems like the guys are choosing to step out of the box and away from the traditional tux (although we do love a classic black tux with bow tie). It also seems like they are willing to embrace the color, theme, and flowers. Love it!
